Adipeau is a science-led skincare range built on one idea: your skin has its own layer of small fat cells, and how healthy those cells are has a big effect on how firm, full and strong your skin looks.
In healthy skin, these dermal fat cells are small and plentiful. Over time, with sun, inflammation, weight changes, menopause and age, their number drops and the remaining cells grow larger. Enlarged fat cells are inflammatory and suppress collagen and elastin production, which shows up as sagging, hollowing and crepey skin. Adipeau is designed to reverse that pattern by shrinking enlarged cells and supporting the formation of new, small ones.

The science behind it is legitimate, and the founder Ivan is as genuine as they come. Here’s the routine I use on days when I want my skin to look its absolute best with the least effort: after cleansing, I layer on the Strength Gel over my full face and neck. Then the Volume Cream on the areas under my eyes and the sides of my mouth as a spot treatment. I go and do something else for five to ten minutes, then come back and rub in whatever is left. The residue behaves like a beautiful rich moisturiser - my skin goes luminous and a little glassy. And makeup goes over the top beautifully.

The two products work through the same mechanism, supporting the health of the fat cells beneath your skin, but each has its own job. Strength Gel strengthens skin that looks weak, crepey or saggy across the face, neck and body. Volume Cream targets specific areas that have hollowed out or lost their fullness. A firming gel for the full face, neck, décolletage and body. It visibly firms sagging skin, smooths the appearance of cellulite and leaves a light, breathable protective layer. Leave it for about five minutes to absorb.
Adipeau Volume Cream (60ml)
A spot treatment for hollows under the eyes, at the sides of the mouth, the temples and cheeks. It restores the appearance of volume and adds an instant glow. Leave it for ten minutes, then rub in anything left.

How to use both:
Adipeau recommends most people start with Strength Gel on its own for at least four weeks. Strengthening the skin often lifts some of what looks like volume loss, which makes it easier to see where the true hollows are. Then add Volume Cream to those areas.
Once you’re using both, you can layer them in either order. Volume Cream on last gives more glow, and Strength Gel on last gives more protection. If mornings are rushed, use Strength Gel in the morning and Volume Cream at night. Either way, Adipeau goes on last in your routine, after serums and moisturiser and before sunscreen.

Do I start using both products straight away?
Most people do best starting with Strength Gel alone for at least four weeks, then adding Volume Cream. If you’re mainly after glow rather than treating a concern, you can use both from the start.
How long does the bundle last?
Used twice a day on the face, Strength Gel lasts about four to six weeks. Volume Cream used as a spot treatment lasts about two to three months. That means you’ll usually need a second Strength Gel before your Volume Cream runs out.

Adipeau Volume Cream (formerly Active Face Cream) is a targeted spot treatment for facial volume loss: the hollows under the eyes, at the sides of the mouth, at the temples and in the cheeks.
Your skin has its own layer of small fat cells that give the face its fullness and structure. How to use Volume Cream:
Apply Volume Cream as the last step of your routine, after serums and moisturiser and before sunscreen. Spread a thin layer onto the hollow areas only: under the eyes, the sides of the mouth, the temples or cheeks. Under the eyes, keep it a little further from the lash line than other products, as the cream moves. Leave it for ten minutes until it turns translucent, then rub in anything left or leave the sheen. Use once or twice daily.
For glow, apply a thin layer over the whole face before an event or whenever you want your skin to look its best.
You can layer it with Strength Gel in either order. Volume Cream on last gives more glow, and Strength Gel on last gives more protection. Or use Strength Gel in the morning and Volume Cream at night.

Yes. Adipeau rebranded in 2025, and Active Face Cream became Volume Cream. If you’ve been searching for Active Face Cream, this is the product you’re looking for.
How long does Adipeau Volume Cream take to work?
The glow is immediate. Volume builds slowly, over months rather than weeks, because the cream supports new fat cells rather than plumping the skin temporarily. In Adipeau’s registered clinical study, 35 adults used the cream on the mid and lower face for six months. 3D imaging showed volume increased in sunken areas, with significantly greater gains at six months than at three. Deep hollows and established marionette lines can take six months or longer, so consistency matters most.
Should I start with Volume Cream or Strength Gel?

The fat cells beneath your skin play a big part in how firm and strong it looks. As they grow larger and fewer over time, with age, menopause, weight changes and sun, the skin loosens and thins. Strength Gel is designed to shrink those enlarged fat cells and encourage new, small ones to form, so the skin can strengthen itself. How to use Strength Gel:
Apply Strength Gel as the last step of your routine, after serums and moisturiser and before sunscreen. Spread a thin layer with your fingertips over the whole area, not just the weakest spot: the full face, jawline and neck, or the body areas you’re working on. The face is one connected piece of tissue, so treating only one line or fold won’t give you a visible lift. Leave it for about five minutes until it’s almost dry to the touch. If you can still see product after that, you’ve used too much. There’s no need to wash it off, but you can rinse it once it has absorbed if you prefer.
Use it twice a day while you’re working on a concern, and once a day for maintenance. Used twice a day on the face, a tube lasts about four to six weeks.

How long does Adipeau Strength Gel take to work?
Your skin often feels different before it looks different. On the face, Adipeau expects visible strengthening from four to six weeks, improving over the following months. The neck is slower: usually one to three months for visible change, and up to six months for more significant results. Neck lines can look a little more wrinkled at first as the fat cells shrink, which is the start of recovery, not a setback. For cellulite, allow about three months of twice-daily use. In Adipeau’s 12-week cellulite study of 17 people, independent reviewers comparing blinded before and after photos consistently picked the before photo as having more severe cellulite, especially in moderate to severe cases.

Yes, most of your routine can stay. Apply Adipeau last, after serums and moisturiser and before sunscreen. The exceptions are a few ingredients that work against what Adipeau does: caffeine, guarana, resveratrol, curcumin, green tea extract (EGCG) and L-carnitine, which are common in eye creams, cellulite creams and some antioxidant serums. Meet Adipeau
Ivan Galanin came to skincare from biotech, where study protocols are registered in advance and results face outside scrutiny. His discovery was accidental. A cottonseed oil cream he used to treat severe dermatitis also visibly changed the contours of his face, and that pointed him to an overlooked layer of the skin: the dermal fat cells that hold the face up from within.
As Ivan puts it: “What you are told is ‘aging’ is not aging.”
Adipeau’s mechanism has been validated in human fat cells by researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, in studies sponsored by Adipeau, and the formula is protected by a US patent. The wider idea that enlarged, inflamed fat cells weaken the skin isn’t Adipeau’s alone. It has also been published by other researchers, including Shiseido’s research centre.
