Welcome to Lucere

Welcome to Lucere! I am so excited to begin this journey - it has been a huge undertaking starting from scratch and bringing it to life. It all started with a couple of things from way back when I didn’t have a clue this would be what I would be doing! 

Growing up a teenager with pale skin and dark hair (thanks to my lovely Greek grandfather), hair removal was an issue!  Then, living in the city, I got laser hair removal treatments in my early 20s back when it was still pretty new and seriously expensive.

During one of those appointments a laser technician visiting from the US decided to treat my face for acne before it was even being offered as an official service at the clinic and I was amazed by the result of just one treatment.

Then, about five years later I wanted the cheapest laser hair removal I could find as I was on a tight budget and I came out with a burn! I had no idea this was even possible! It taught me two lessons: check the training of the person operating the machine and cheap treatments can mean cheap (and unsafe) technology.

Later, living overseas I became friends with a laser technician who loved, and still loves her job!  I thought it would be a great/fun job to have.

And finally, living back in the Wairarapa, many years later, my daughters’ started asking about various treatments and once again I was on the look out for a provider. At the same time my own wedding was coming up and I couldn’t get an appointment anywhere in the Wairarapa. I realised there are still a ton of people who drive over the Remutakas for their treatments and it was clear there was room for one more business in town.

It’s funny how those seemingly unconnected events, spaced years apart, all lead to formally studying lasers, light and energy devices. I’m proud to have graduated all my courses with honours and have trained (and still train) with experts from New Zealand and overseas.

My husband and I have researched internationally and found the best and safest devices available. We have made significant investments and, as a result, we have access to international clinical experts and mentors any time we like.  As with all technology, science is always progressing and this is a business where the learning never stops!

I am focused on a small number of advanced treatments using world class technology. My priorities are safety first, as well as a great result for my clients. I pair this with my own values, promoting a simple, natural life. Natural skin and skincare and a pro-age mentality. I’m not interested in fighting with the clock, only being the best I can authentically be. I’m more and more interested in long term solutions, not a quick fix! I think most women in my age bracket are starting to contemplate what it means to age and enjoying the wisdom and self acceptance (confidence!) that comes with it.

And this is just the beginning for Lucere! As a business we have big ideas for the future. We have a beautiful, newly renovated building and we are very excited to keep introducing new technology (not just laser, energy and light!) to enhance people’s lives, so watch this space!
